This Privacy Policy applies in addition to the Terms and Conditions of our Site.
1 – Business data we collect
We only collect data that helps us achieve the purpose set out in this Privacy Policy. We will not collect any additional data beyond the data listed below without notifying you first.
Data Collected Automatically
When you use our Site to feature your products, we will automatically collect the following information.
· All details provided in the 'Become a Vendor' form to support your application as an official Ocanova partner.
· Information regarding your product listings—such as descriptions, pricing, ratings, and return policies—as well as your sales history and other Shopify administration data, is received and processed by us
2 – How we use the business data
Data collected on our Site will only be used for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy or indicated on the relevant pages of our Site. We will not use your data beyond what we disclose in this Privacy Policy.
The data we collect automatically is used for the following purposes:
· Communicate with you: To communicate with you by email about our services, including product updates, and changes to our policies and terms. We also use your email to communicate any issues concerning customers orders of your products.
· Authentication, integrity, security, and fraud prevention: To authenticate your business credentials and to detect, investigate, and prevent malicious conduct, fraudulent activity or unsafe experiences, address security threats, protect public safety, and secure our services for you and your customers.
· Legal reasons: To comply with applicable law or respond to valid legal process, including requests from law enforcement or government agencies, to investigate or participate in civil discovery, litigation, or other adversarial legal proceedings, and to enforce or investigate potential violations of our terms or policies.
3 – Whom we share the business with

We may disclose the Vendor’s data to any member of our organization who reasonably needs access to the data to achieve the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
We may share the following user data with certain of our employees:
· Business name;
· Name of the owner(s) of the business;
· Name of the contact that will be monitoring your Shopify account;
· Business address;
· Business email;
· Business land telephone number (if available);
· Cellular telephone number (if available);
· Business website address;
· Business provincial or federal ID number; and
· GST and PST tax numbers.

We may share the Vendor’s data with the following third parties:
· Shopify Inc.
We may share the following Vendor’ data with third parties:
· Business name;
· Name of the owner(s) of the business;
· Name of the contact that will be monitoring your Shopify account;
· Business address;
· Business email;
· Business land telephone number (if available);
· Cellular telephone number (if available);
· Business website address;
· Business provincial or federal ID number;
· GST and PST tax numbers;
We may share the Vendor’s data with third parties for the following purposes:
· To communicate with the Vendor by email or by telephone;
· To validate the authenticity of the business.
Third parties will not be able to access user data beyond what is reasonably necessary to achieve the given purpose.
Other Disclosures
We will not sell or share your data with other third parties, except in the following cases:
· If the law requires it;
· If it is required for any legal proceeding; and
· To prove or protect our legal rights.
4 – How long we store the business data
We retain the business data for as long as we have an
ongoing business need to do so (e.g., to provide our Services, to comply with
applicable legal, tax, or accounting requirements, for security and fraud
detection or prevention, or in connection with backup or disaster recovery
processes), unless a different retention period is permitted or required by
applicable law.
The criteria used to determine our retention periods include the following:
· The length of time we have an ongoing relationship with you and our services provided to you (for example, for as long as you are a Vendor with us or keep using our services);
· Whether Ocanova has a legal obligation to keep the data (for example, certain laws require Ocanova to keep records of your transactions for a certain period of time); or
· Whether retention is advisable considering our legal position (such as regarding the enforcement of our agreements, the resolution of disputes, the applicable statutes of limitations, litigation, or regulatory investigation).
5 – How we protect your business data
To protect your security, our third party uses the strongest
available browser encryption and stores all the data on servers in secure
facilities. Some business data is only accessible to some of our employees. Our
employees are bound by strict confidentiality agreements, and a breach of this
agreement would result in the employee’s termination and a criminal charge.
While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure that the Vendor’s data is secure and that our Vendor’s are protected, there always remains the risk of harm. The Internet can be insecure at times and therefore we are unable to guarantee the security of the Vendor’s data beyond what is reasonably practical.
6 - Your rights as a Vendor
Under the GDPR (General data protection regulation), you have the following rights:
· Right to be informed;
· Right of access;
· Right to rectification;
· Right to erasure;
· Right to restrict processing;
· Right to data portability; and
· Right to object.
7 – Minors
The minimum age to be a Vendor on our Site is 18. If we learn that we have collected business data from a person under 18, the data will be deleted as soon as it is detected, and the Vendor Contract will be terminated.

9 - How to opt-out of data collection, use or disclosure
Your Privacy Rights and Choices
You may have certain rights to manage your business data, and the following rights may apply, subject to certain exceptions:
· Access and Portability : Right to request access to your business data.
· Correction / Rectification : Right to correct inaccurate or incomplete business data in certain circumstances.
· Deletion / Erasure : Right to delete your business data.
· Right to opt out : Right to opt-out of the “sharing” of your business data for cross context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising.
10 – Cookie policy
A cookie is a small file, stored on a Vendor’s hard drive by a website. Its purpose is to collect data relating to the Vendor’s browsing habits. You can choose to be notified each time a cookie is transmitted. You can also choose to disable cookies entirely in your internet browser, but this may decrease the quality of your user experience.
We use the following types of cookies on our Site:
· Functional cookies : Functional cookies are used to remember the selections you make on our Site so that your selections are saved for your next visits;
