Harrison Watch in Recycled Whiskey Barrel Wood

The Harrison watch, by Mathieu Blanchard, is freely designed, drawing inspiration from the most prodigious watchmakers the field has known. This model is thus named in homage to John Harrison: a self-taught cabinetmaker and watchmaker. He was one of the most important watchmakers of the 18th century and marked the history of world watchmaking with the invention of the chronometer and the pendulum.

The durability of a product depends mainly on its materials. For Mathieu Blanchard Signature watches, we use materials that are durable over time.

For the crystal, we use sapphire crystal: It is the most frequently used crystal in today's high-end watches. Sapphire crystal is 10 times harder than mineral glass and 4 times harder than acrylic glass. It is virtually impossible to scratch except with a diamond, which is even harder. This crystal is lab-created.

For watch cases and bracelets, we have made enormous efforts to produce using durable materials such as natural wood from sustainable sources and matte-finished stainless steel. This finish provides visual durability, as wear and tear appear much less than on a polished finish.
