🔒 Getting started without Shopify
This page is reserved for certified Ocanova vendors. Enter the email from your application and the 6-digit access code you received from our support team.
Let's open your Shopify account, then get your products onto Ocanova
You're approved — the Shopify account is the only missing piece. This page takes you from nothing to your first sale. Budget about an hour of actual work; Shopify's identity check can add a day or two on top. If you already sell on Etsy, Amazon or anywhere else, step 5 brings your catalogue across for you.
The steps
- Open your Shopify account
- Turn on Shopify Payments in CAD
- Install Collective: Supplier
- Verify your identity and taxes
- Optional: import an existing catalogue
- Create your private Ocanova price list
- Add your products
Open your Shopify account
It's free to open, and you do not need to build a storefront of your own. The account is what holds your products, receives your orders and collects your payments — that's all Ocanova needs from it.
Use the link below — it ties your signup to us, which lets us help if anything snags during setup.
Turn on Shopify Payments in CAD
Shopify requires your store to meet every criterion below to qualify as a Collective supplier. This is the number one reason people get stuck later on — settle it now.
- Shopify Payments as your primary gateway — fully set up, unfrozen, and actively transferring funds to your bank account.
- Payout currency set to CAD.
- Your Collective price lists must be in CAD only.
- A registered Canadian business address and physical inventory held in Canada.
- Your store must pass Shopify's automated trust, safety, fraud and identity checks.
Install the Collective: Supplier app
In your Shopify admin, open Apps and type just the word
Collective into the search bar. The Collective: Supplier app will
appear — click through to its official page, then click Install. It's free.
Once installed it appears under Sales channels in your admin's left-hand menu.
Verify your identity and set up taxes
Shopify requires verification before it will let you trade across stores. Go to
Sales channels → Collective: Supplier → Settings, then
click the ID verification link.
Have a photo ID and a quick selfie ready — the check is automated and fast. While you're in there, confirm your Canadian tax settings (GST/HST/PST) are configured and active.
Already selling somewhere else? Import your catalogue
If you already sell online or in person — Etsy, WooCommerce, Wix, Amazon, eBay, Square, Lightspeed, Clover and more — don't retype anything. Your products can be pulled into Shopify, usually just by connecting the account.
Pick your platform and we'll take you to the exact instructions.
Build a private price list for Ocanova
This is the step that keeps you exclusive: a private list hides your inventory
from the public Collective directory. In Collective: Supplier, go to
Price lists → Create price list and title it
Ocanova Price List.
Leave the status on Active. Under Permissions, switch to
Private access — a Search retailers box appears; type
Ocanova to assign the list exclusively to us.
Under Shipping, set either your flat rates or your calculated-at-checkout rules for Canadian regions, plus your free shipping policy if you have one.
Save.
Add your products
Still in Price lists, click the Add products tab at the
bottom of the page. A window opens showing every product already in your Shopify store —
tick the ones you want featured on Ocanova.
Click Save and the products are bound to your private list. Then
Save and publish to activate it.
We're notified that your products are ready. We import them, sort them into our collections, label them and feature them on the platform.
After that: orders and payouts run themselves
Once the link is live there's no manual data entry at all. When a customer buys your product on Ocanova, the order lands straight in your own store's Orders queue.
Pack and ship to the customer exactly as you normally would, then fulfil the order in your dashboard — the tracking number maps back to Ocanova and the customer automatically.
Shopify Payments splits the transaction instantly: the margin goes to Ocanova, and your funds land directly in your Shopify Payments account.
That's everything.
Your products will be featured on Ocanova shortly. We'll write to you as soon as they're imported and live.
