It is a patented strain with a remarkably longer and more stable shelf life than other probiotic supplements, with a lower loss rate than other Bifidobacterium strains exposed to multiple different temperatures.

Isolated from healthy human digestive tracts, Bifidobacterium has long been recognized as a beneficial genus, making up more than 90% of total gut bacteria in breast-fed infants. It has been shown to have multiple immunomodulatory effects, such as increasing secretory IgA production and NK cell and neutrophil activity, as well as balancing Th1/Th2 immune activity. It has also been shown to improve mucosal barrier function in the colon, partly by upregulating tight junction molecules.
