Nattokinase NSK-SD

Nattokinase is a fibrinolytic enzyme extracted from natto, a traditional Japanese fermented soybean food. Fibrinolytic action works to break down fibrin under fibrotic conditions and in the cardiovascular system. When there is too much fibrin in the blood, clots (thrombus) can form and become mobile due to damaged atherosclerotic plaques, poor circulation, or vascular disease, leading to serious health consequences.

Over 25 years of scientific research and testing show nattokinase to be safe and effective in breaking down fibrin and fibrinogen (to degrade blood clots and thrombus, inflammatory markers), preventing platelet aggregation (blood clot formation), increasing blood circulation, and improving fibrotic conditions. Furthermore, fibrinolytic enzymes can break down excess fibrin and fibrinogen associated with inflammation, fibrosis, fibroids, and biofilm.

Nattokinase has been shown to degrade fibrin clots both in clot lysis tests comparable to plasmin and by affecting plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1), which is the primary inhibitor of tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA).

Human clinical studies have demonstrated nattokinase's ability to decrease euglobulin (clot) lysis time (ELT) for up to 8 hours after oral administration of a dose of natto estimated at 6,000 fibrin degradation units (FU). Furthermore, euglobulin fibrinolytic activity (EFA; lysis zone on a fibrin plate) increased significantly for up to 12 hours post-administration.
