Phytoembryotherapy is a branch of phytotherapy that specifically incorporates embryological plant tissues (buds, young shoots, etc.) containing undifferentiated plant meristem cells. These cells multiply very rapidly and contain the plant's essential genetic material and blueprint.

These embryonic tissues are rich in beneficial phytochemicals such as growth factors, plant hormones, enzymes, nucleic acids, trace elements, and phytonutrients like polyphenols and flavonoids. These embryological tissues are utilized because many of the elements mentioned above are lost in fully developed plants once chlorophyll has formed. These tissues are also used because their energetic elements are at their highest level when harvested in the spring, which is the most active phase of their growth cycle.
