Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) seed extracts contain silymarin, which is used to maintain the health of liver cells through various mechanisms, including the inhibition of free radical production, increasing the formation of the antioxidant enzyme glutathione in liver cells, and supporting hepatocyte protein synthesis.
