Flying geese are the foundation of countless quilt blocks — simple, versatile, and quick to make. The AccuQuilt GO! Flying Geese Die (55456) cuts one 6" finished quarter square triangle (the goose) and two 3" finished half square triangles (the sky) in a single pass, complete with specialized dog-ears and 1/4" seam allowances for easy alignment and piecing. Combine two units for a 6" finished block. Use them alone or build classic blocks like the Sawtooth Star. A great way to work through Layer Cake and Fat Quarter cuts or use up scraps.

How to Die Cut Flying Geese Units:

For best cutting results, position fabric on the lengthwise grain (straight of grain) as it goes under the roller.

• 3" Finished Half Square Triangles (sky) — Cut 4 3/4" strips across the width of fabric. Fanfold into 4" widths. Place on selected blade and cut. Cuts 20 triangles across the width; 1 metre of 100 cm wide fabric yields approximately 140 triangles.
• 6" Finished Quarter Square Triangles (goose) — Cut 7" strips across the width of fabric. Fanfold into 4" widths. Place on selected blade and cut. Cuts 10 triangles across the width; 1 metre of 100 cm wide fabric yields approximately 50 triangles.
