The Bach Flower Cherry Plum contains an aqueous extract of Prunus cerasifera. In common parlance, it is called cherry plum, myrobalan plum, or simply "myrobalan". Native to Southwest Asia and Southeastern Europe, it takes the form of a shrub that can reach between five and ten meters in height in adulthood. Its five-petaled flowers with golden stamens, its oval and serrated leaves, cover its bare branches at the end of winter or the beginning of spring.

The clusters of bright white flowers generally offer a striking contrast with the very dark branches of the myrobalan plum: they seem to literally illuminate the darkness. Towards the end of summer, the shrub then bears red fruits, quite similar to cherries. Edible, they are often used to prepare jams.

Hardy, Prunus cerasifera withstands temperatures below 0°C well. It can be grown in almost all types of soil (including calcareous soils), as long as it benefits from a sunny location. In France, it is often used as a "rootstock" for other types of plum trees such as the Damson plum, for example.
