Brazil - Single Origin

Brazil was one of the first single-origin coffees roasted by BBCR when it launched in 2017. You could say it's the "OG" of BBCR's specialty coffees ;)

Recently, we made a change to our Brazilian coffee beans. A change that we think makes them even better! BBCR has established a direct trade relationship for our single-origin green beans from Brazil. We've partnered with Orange Brown, a green coffee importer with Brazilian origins. Orange Brown facilitates direct trade with a tight-knit community of coffee-farming farmers. This means the coffee is both traceable and transparent. We know where the coffee comes from and how it was produced, and we know the local environment and communities. A true farm-to-cup green bean supplier!

This specific coffee is grown on the farm or "fadenza" Cachoeira located in the Cerrado region of Brazil. The fadenza, and the tradition of coffee production, has belonged to the Barbosa family since the twentieth century. Passed down through generations, it is now run by Danilo Barbosa and remains a family business (husband, wife, father, son, and daughter-in-law all working together). 

Located 1100 meters above sea level, the Barbosa family owns 460 hectares of irrigated fields that offer ideal conditions for specialty coffee production. Well-defined seasons, soil, and topography — combined with experienced plantation management — provide the Barbosa family with everything they need to produce the best coffee. By paying close attention to quality, from variety selection to harvest season, the family exports exceptional coffee to North America based on direct trade with the partnership of Orange Brown.

Our roasted Brazil has crazy aromas of milk chocolate and hazelnuts that remind us of a delicious chocolate spread, with a powerful body and a beautiful finish.

This Brazil can be enjoyed with all brewing methods and is suitable for all consumption styles.

Our single-origin Brazil comes from a medium roast of 21 on the roast scale and 82 on the Agtron Gourmet Scale established by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).
